About Me

Hi! I'm JD Leonard, an entrepreneur living in Oakland, CA.

I'm currently building TextbookMadness.com, a website to help students save money on textbooks. You can read more about it here.

Previously, I worked for Microsoft in Redmond, WA as a Program Manager in the Windows Live organization. Most of my efforts there were focused on Windows Live Photo Gallery, Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Writer, and plugins.live.com. I lived in downtown Bellevue, WA during my time at Microsoft.

In May 2009 I graduated from Rice University in Houston, TX with a degree in Computer Science. Before that, I lived in London, England where I attended The American School in London from 2nd through 12th grade. Prior to living in London, I spent the first seven years of my life in Rye, NY, a suburb of New York City.

Camp Dudley YMCA in Westport, NY is the summer camp that I attended in 1999 and 2000. I worked at Dudley each summer from 2003 through 2008. Dudley is an amazing place full of incredible people. I enjoy listening to music, going to concerts, traveling, skiing, running, cooking and eating delicious food, and playing board games like Agricola and Settlers of Catan.
While I usually go by JD ( J.D. ), I am also known as John D. Leonard, John Daniel Leonard, and John Daniel H. Leonard.
