Hi! I'm JD Leonard, an experienced Drupal web developer and consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland / Berkeley / SF). I'm the Founder and Chief Solutions Architect of Modern Biz Consulting LLC. My specialty is building complex Drupal web applications.

TextbookMadness.com, a website to help students save money on textbooks, is a side project of mine. It offers free campus classified listings and a comparison shopping engine. Textbook Madness helps students find new and used textbooks, textbook rentals, and eBooks at the best prices on campus and online and also helps students sell their used textbooks. While the site targets students, it can help anyone save money on any type of book - give it a try.

I'm married to the wonderful Laura Leonard.

Previously, I worked for Microsoft in Redmond, WA as a Program Manager in the Windows Live organization. My efforts there were focused on Windows Live Photo Gallery, Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Writer, plugins.live.com, and Windows 8. During my time at Microsoft, I lived in downtown Bellevue, WA.

In May 2009 I graduated from Rice University in Houston, TX with a degree in Computer Science. Before that, I lived in London, England where I attended The American School in London for grades 2-12. Prior to living in London, I spent the first seven years of my life in Rye, NY, a suburb of New York City.

Camp Dudley YMCA in Westport, NY is the summer camp that I attended in 1999 and 2000. I worked at Dudley each summer from 2003 through 2008. Dudley is an amazing place full of incredible people. Consider it for your kids!

I enjoy listening to music, going to concerts, traveling, skiing, running, cooking and eating delicious food, and playing board games like Agricola, Seven Wonders, and Settlers of Catan.
While I usually go by JD ( J.D. ), I am also known as John D. Leonard, John Daniel Leonard, and John Daniel H. Leonard.
